Follows Subaru Natsuki, an ordinary teenager unexpectedly transported to a fantasy world. Lacking special powers, he discovers a cursed ability called "Return by Death," allowing him to rewind time to a "save point" upon dying, forcing him to relive traumatic events to protect his new allies, particularly the silver-haired elf, Emilia.
