On June 3rd, 1991, Kyushu, Japan, a tsunami of ash and rock descended at over 100 mph from the peak of Mount Unzen consuming everything in its path. Forty three people were killed, including Maurice and Katia Krafft, the legendary French volcanologists who filmed volcanoes and risked their lives to shoot the most spectacular eruptions of the 20th century.
